We are a small, family run hobby kennel facility, dedicated to the working German Shepherd Dog.  We breed European working lines to produce dogs that are capable of  K9 sports, Search and Rescue, Police work, personal protection/family security, obedience, agility, and the best family/child companion you could imagine!

We believe in responsible breeding to hopefully maintain or improve the German Shepherd Dog and its exceptional working traits.  Stable temperament, healthy dogs, and correct physical structure are all required for the German Shepherd to work properly.  We spend a great deal of time reviewing and evaluating specific stud dogs and consult with other K9 professionals for additional insight regarding temperament and physical traits to complement our females.  Past breeding's and the puppies they have produced are also looked at, whenever possible, to help predict future breeding's. 

We believe the German Shepherd Dog should be good with children.  http://maxvstephanitz.homestead.com/mvs_temperament.html These are temperament traits we feel are just as essential in a child/family companion as in a police service dog or personal protection dog.  German Shepherds must be able to function within their family/work place without having to be locked away whenever visitors comes to your home/work.  Any of my five kids and their friends, can interact with and play with, any of our dogs.  One or more of our dogs are always a constant companion for our kids whenever they are outside playing.  Whether it is running with the kids through the woods or down to the creek for a swim, our four legged companions are ever present to play with and keep an eye on the children.

As I do not breed and train dogs to feed  my family, I have the luxury of being very picky in the breeding's we are involved in.  If we can't find the matches we are looking for we don't breed. 

I have lived with dogs for over 45 years and have been training dogs for over 20 years.  I am a past K9 handler/trainer for Northstar Search and Rescue Dog Association, the Minnesota Search Dog Network,  the Minnesota Civil Air Patrol SARDOG, and am a current K9 handler for K9 Search Services.  http://www.k9searchservices.com/
